# Update your Salesforce Information (record types, layouts, custom fields, etc.)

To ensure that your PipeLaunch Browser Extension remains up-to-date and functions optimally, it’s important to sync your org metadata information whenever key changes are made. Here's a simple guide on how to do this:

### Steps to Sync Org Metadata:

1. **Go to the Profile Menu:**
* From within the app, click on your profile icon, typically located in the top-right corner of the interface.
  
2. **Click on "Sync Org" Button:**
* In the dropdown menu, you’ll see the option labeled "Sync Org." Click on it to start the synchronization process.

3. . **Click on "Update" Button**

### When Should You Sync Your Org?

It’s recommended to perform the sync in the following cases:
* **Whenever a layout is changed:** If any record layouts are modified in your Salesforce org, syncing will ensure these changes are reflected in the app.
* **When a new field is created:** Any newly created fields won’t be available in the app until the sync is complete.
  
### Automatic Sync with Version Updates

The sync process is done **automatically** with every PipeLaunch version update. However, manual syncing is still required for any changes you make to your org between updates.
