Field Not Showing Up When Creating a Record

If a field you expect to see is missing when creating a new record in PipeLaunch, there are a few common reasons this can happen. Follow the steps below to troubleshoot.

1. The Field Was Recently Created in Salesforce

PipeLaunch needs to sync your Salesforce org metadata to pick up new fields. If the field was just created, it may not be available yet.

Solution: Trigger an org sync to pull in the latest field definitions or logout and login.

2. Your Org Is Using the Custom Layout option

If your organization has configured custom layouts in PipeLaunch (via Admin Settings), the field may not have been added to the layout yet.

Solution: Reach out to your PipeLaunch admin and ask them to verify that the field is included in the custom layout for the relevant object.

3. The Field Exists on the Full Layout but Not on the Custom Layout

You can check this yourself:

  1. When creating a new record, click the Show Full Layout button.
  2. If the field appears in the full layout, that confirms PipeLaunch can see it, but it has not been activated on the custom layout.
  3. Ask your admin to add the field to the custom layout in Organization Settings.

4. You're Using a New FlexiPage Layout in Salesforce

Salesforce's newer FlexiPage (Lightning App Builder) layouts are not supported by the Salesforce API, which means PipeLaunch cannot read them. This is a Salesforce platform limitation, not a PipeLaunch limitation.

If your org uses FlexiPage layouts, PipeLaunch will fall back to the standard page layout assigned to the user's profile.
